After-Hours: AI Talent Networking

On 8 October 2026, Olofsson co-hosted After-Hours: AI Talent Networking with EDB Global Ventures and Lorong AI. It was an intimate, invite-only evening for a curated group of Singapore's boldest founders, AI builders and senior tech leaders. The programme opened with a fireside chat on what is fuelling the ambition of Singapore's AI builder community, then moved to cocktails and open networking with a room full of people building at the edge of what is possible.

An evening for the people building AI in Singapore

After-Hours was hosted by EDB Global Ventures, Lorong AI and Olofsson & Company, with the DesignSingapore Council as a cohost. The brief was to bring a curated group of founders, AI builders and senior tech leaders into one room for an evening of conversation rather than a conference day. Registration opened at 5:30pm, the introductions began at 6:00pm, the fireside chat followed at 6:10pm and open networking ran from 6:30pm.

The fireside chat

The conversation, titled Scaling from Singapore: Talent, Community, and Ecosystem Support, featured Cecily Ng, Vice President and General Manager for ASEAN and Greater China at Databricks, Thomas Jeng, APAC Head of Startups at OpenAI, and Maria Li, Director of Ecosystem Integration at the National AI Group, MDDI. The question running through it was what is fuelling the ambition of Singapore's AI builder community, and what a company needs around it, from talent to community to ecosystem support, to scale from here.

What this means for hiring

Talent was the first of the three threads in the fireside chat, and it is the one we work on every day. Senior AI leaders are rarely found through a search bar. Access runs through relationships and community, which is why we pair our AI-powered talent platform with evenings like this one, built alongside partners such as EDB Global Ventures and Lorong AI.
